Milenko Tanasijevic is an American-Macedonian composer and pianist based in Newton, Massachusetts. His original compositions explore the interaction of harmonic color, rhythmic structure, counterpoint, and the expressive possibilities of the acoustic piano.

Milenko studied piano and theory at the Macedonian Music Center in Skopje, North Macedonia, where he developed an early interest in Jazz interwoven with elements of Macedonian folklore. His passion for cross-cultural expression led him to perform across Europe and at the 1986 Montreal Jazz Festival before enrolling at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

In the mid-1990s, Milenko’s focus turned to contrapuntal organ and keyboard works inspired by J. S. Bach, resulting in two major collections: Magnificat: 24 Fugues and Magnificat, Book Two.

His more recent piano music is bridging composition and improvisation, employing largely atonal harmonic language and reflecting his longstanding interest in the works of Igor Stravinsky, Béla Bartók and Wolfgang Rihm.
